Anglesey Abbey in Cambridgeshire, the home of Lord Fairhaven, is a National Trust property with a 114 acre garden for all seasons and the perfect place for a post-Christmas walk.
These images were all taken in the wonderful Winter Garden where among the highlights was the birch grove, the Cornus sanguinea ‘Anny’s Orange Winter’ and an early sighting of snowdrops ….

  1. So good to have a winter garden to visit! The snowdrops are very early this year – apparently it will be carpeted with them soon. Hope you had a good Christmas, Ann, and a Happy 2016.

    1. Happy New Year, Catherine! There were also daffodils, but unbelievably they were nearly over, so hence I didn’t take any photographs of them. I would highly recommend Anglesey Abbey for a visit and it was only two hours by car from here …

    1. Happy New Year, Amy! I love birch trees too and in fact am planning to focus on photographing more trees this year … I am so looking forward to seeing what you will photograph in the coming year 🙂
